The Primitive "Fall"
Living Room

Plow & Hearth Reforestation Project

I just love decorating my primitive home for the different seasons.  "Fall" is such a wonderful, colorful time of year.  The reds, golds, oranges and blacks can make your room really come alive!

Just by adding a few subtle touches, such as throwing a couple of "Fall" pillows on your sofa,  a nice warm "fall colored" throw over a chair for those chilly autumn nights, or burning a nice fall scented candle can make your primitive home a place you'll never want to leave.

I really wanted something different for one of my walls in my "prim" living room.  I went down into my basement and found a couple of shutters.  These are the kind that have the fabric inserts in the middle that you can remove.  I decided to find some "fall" themed fabric and inserted them in the shutters.  I painted them black to match the old window box I found at a yard sale.

Inside the box I place 2 folk art "pumpkin" men and in the middle a small pumpkin.

Over the top of the display I placed an old wooden sign.

In the middle of the shutters and over the window box I placed just a small sprig of fall berries.

Decorate your fireplace mantel for the "Fall" with sprigs of fall colored leaves, ghosts and goblins, candles, clear glass jars filled with candy corn or "Fall" colored small ragballs.

Just remember to keep the "Fall" colors in mind and you're all set!!

I hope you enjoyed my wall display and I hope it gave you some inspiration to come up with your own ideas for decorating your primitive living room for the "Fall"!
