The Primitive "Fall" Bedroom

Let's add some fall color to our primitive bedroom!  Incorporating fall notions in our primitive bedroom is simple and fun!  Try filling a glass vase or jar with fall colored buttons or cut small strips of homespun fabric in fall colors and placing them in the jar.  Tie a piece of gold, red, orange or brown raffia (or all 4) around the neck of the jar and you have a nice autumn touch in your room.

I love to decorate my lampshades so adding a simple touch like tying a strip of fabric around the middle of the shade makes a cute primitive statement and also can be changed for the seasons.

I tied some brown, ecru and orange raffia around this lamp to give it a "Fall" touch.  Then I made small rag balls out of some fall fabric and placed them at the bottom of the lamp.  The word "Dream" was stenciled on with black stencil paint.   Sew on a large wooden button to give it that primitive touch.  You could buy some plain white or ecru shades and stencil the word "Fall" or "Autumn" around the bottom.  These small shades are very inexpensive at thrift stores.  Stencil Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter on each of the 4 sides and have whichever season it is facing out!

You can bring some color into your primitive bedroom by placing mums in an old wagon or doll carriage to keep the theme of fall in your primitive bedroom.

Tie some raffia in fall colors around your curtains as tiebacks.  You can either knot and let hang or tie in a bow.  Whatever looks good to you!  Just keep in mind your fall colors and you'll be all set!

Don't forget your candles when decorating your primitive fall bedroom.  Place a pillar candle in a flat dish (preferably in a fall color) and circle the bottom with a piece of bittersweet.  You can buy this at any craft store.  If you buy it in a long vine, cut it up into shorter pieces and then you can use it to add some touches of fall all around the room!

Place a wooden bowl on a bureau or night stand and fill with your favorite fall items.  Small gourds, pumpkins, nuts and berries or how about a few balls or yarn in gold, red, orange and brown!  This makes a primitive bedroom inviting and warm.  If you look around your home you'd be surprised what little trinkets you can find to decorate with.

Look for items for your candles at yard sales and estate sales.  Alot of times you can find primitive sconces, an old pewter or wrought iron dish that can serve as a candle holder.  Just use your imagination!

If you have primitive dolls on your bed or anywhere in your bedroom tie a piece of "Fall" colored ribbon in their hair or stick a piece of bittersweet in their hand.  That's all you need!

When decorating your primitive bedroom for "Fall"  you don't need to overdo it.  Keep it simple with just a few touches of "Fall" color and that should be enough to make your primitive bedroom a cozy retreat.
