The Primitive Christmas Tree
When decorating your tree this holiday season in the primitive style, remember to keep it simple.
Years ago there wasn't much one could use for decorating a Christmas tree.
I love the idea of just using strung popcorn, cranberries and tying strips of homespun fabric around the branches.
I use white lights on my tree but you could just leave without lights if you prefer.
Years ago they actually used lighted candles on Christmas trees but I don't suggest this as this could be extremely dangerous!
You can buy a primitive tree at many country stores or you could primitively decorate the one you have
.
The idea of primitive decor is to keep it plain and simple. Too much glitz and glitter takes away from the whole idea of "simplifying".
Hang some rustic jingle bells on your tree branches for a nice prim touch! Start with smaller ones at the top and gradually add larger ones as you get to the bottom.
For the topper on the tree a large rusty star looks great. I have a prim snowman angel holdling a candle on mine.
Tie pieces of red, green and white raffia for a nice primitive accent on your Christmas tree.
String empty spools of thread and wooden buttons for a great prim look!
You don't need to spend alot of money to make your prim tree look fantastic!
The purpose of Christmas is to spend time with your loved ones and enjoy this wonderful holiday!
