The Primitive Autumn Bath
Even if you have a very small bathroom you can bring the fall feeling in by just adding a few simple touches. Place a wicker basket on the floor and fill with gourds, small pumpkins or rolled towels in oranges, beiges, reds, and golds. Tie contrasting colors of raffia around the middle of each towel to keep with the fall theme. I chose to fill an old toolbox with touches of "autumn" colors and textures. I have the same pitcher and bowl on my vanity that I've used for years. Every season I just change the flowers and foliage to go with whatever season it happens to be. Here is a pic of what a few added fall leaves and a scarecrow pick can do for your "autumn" bath. Place a sprig of fall leaves over your medicine cabinet or hang baskets on the wall and fill with your favorite fall scented potpourri. Simply adding the fall colors anywhere in your bath can make all the difference. Fill your primitive soap dishes with fall colored soaps. Make sure you have a fall scented candle burning somewhere in your bathroom to complete the experience. Candles come in wonderful fall scents such as apple cider, harvest, pumpkin and many others. If you have some clear glass vases fill them with fall colored potpourri and then tie a piece of orange raffia around the middle and just knot and let hang. Really simple! Just keep in mind what the fall colors are and you can let your imagination go wild! Tuck some sprigs of bittersweet into your shower curtain tiebacks for a quick primitive fall decorating twist.
