Dining Room Holiday TipsThe primitive dining room can be so warm and inviting, especially around the holidays. Here are a few tips to make your holiday special. For this example I chose to use small holly berry wreaths (you can buy these at any craft store or dollar store) and put one around each candle on my chandelier. Add a few primitive jingle bells around it and you have a simple but very effective tip for the holiday season. For my primitive dining room table centerpiece I used a large grapevine wreath and placed it right in the middle of the table. Next I placed a smaller wreath on top of that one. A large pillar candle will go right in the center of this wreath. If you don't want to put a smaller wreath inside the larger one, after you place your pillar candle in the middle fill in the empty space around it with pine cones. Next I went in my stash of holiday fabric and found some red and green check I wanted to use. I cut 8 strips about 7 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. I then weaved each strip through a large jingle bell and tied evenly spaced around the top of the grapevine wreath. Just knot and let the ends hang. Around my pillar candle I cut a piece of the same fabric about 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide. Tie this around the middle of your candle and just knot. Next cut a piece of jute about 16 inches. Put a smaller jingle bell at each end of the jute and knot. Now tie the jute with the bells around your candle and tie in a bow! That's it! Many of the items above can be changed to whatever primitive accent you like. Place a large plate underneath your grapevine wreath centerpiece so it can be moved off the table with ease. Especially if your using pine cones to fill in the space. A really cute centerpiece that will make your primitive dining room warm and inviting for the holidays! May your holidays be filled with the joy of family and friends! and remember--- "Home Is Where The Heart Is" |
