Room by Room Primitive Decorating

bringing "yesterday" back to your home

Primitive decorating is a feeling of warmth and simplicity.  It speaks to our very soul and brings back a time of quiet, uncomplicated living.

We will be discussing how, inexpensively, we can recreate a primitive home  using things we may already have.  Things like buttons,  raffia  or twine,  ribbon,  paint, stamps,  stencils,  pieces of homespun fabric,  old jars and tins,  and crates  are just a few of the things you might find anywhere in your home.

The following five topics will be discussed for each room of the home to make decorating in a primitive style fun and enjoyable and how to get the most from your Country Decor.

Colors

This is the first area we will be discussing.  What are some of the primitive colors that make a room so inviting?  From wall colors to colors in our  rugs and wall hangings, we need the right colors in a room to make it warm and inviting.

Fabrics

Fabrics come into play when choosing bedding, window treatments, lamp shades and other things that will make you step back in time to our early American roots.
